What Is Soft Washing?
Soft washing is a term that is becoming much more commonly used in the pressure washing and roof cleaning industries. It simply means to clean a given exterior using a much softer amount of pressure than most would traditionally associate with a pressure washing company. In fact, most of the exterior cleaning services performed by today's professionals would fall under the soft washing umbrella . The reason that the term pressure washing is still so widely used has more to do with its industry term recognition than anything. My definition of soft washing is to clean an exterior using 400 psi or less.
Different surfaces require different levels of “soft washing”. For instance, the proper way the clean a roof is to use low, or what many refer to as “non pressure roof cleaning”. How the 1 Year Warranty Works
If any growth, such as algae or mildew streaking, lichens or moss should return within our warranty period we will revisit your home and retreat the roof (ONLY THE INFECTED AREA) for free. It is that simple.
Impessive Cleaning Systems also offers the Extended 2 Year Warranty under a maintenance program as an option. Before the first 1 Year Warranty expires you have the option for ICS to come and perform a maintenance cleaning at a much reduced rate, thereby extending the existing warranty for additional year!
Landscape Protection
You will find that we always use a two-man crew when cleaning. This is to protect the technician on the roof but it also means that the technician on the ground is able to protect your plants, shrubs & trees from damage by the chemical used to clean your roof. We do this by first laying a lightweight polythene cover over the plants which may be damaged and we then spray water under the area being cleaned in order to dilute any chemical which may spill. In summer, when polythene will only serve to act as a magnifying glass for the sun's rays, causing damage to the plants underneath, we will only use water spray. This is simply a precaution. We are very careful and do not spray chemical except where it is needed.
We also rinse the chemical off the roof before we leave, so that your plants will not become damaged when it rains. A roof which is not rinsed with water after it has been applied will contain a lot of chemical, which when it rains, will drip off your roof and onto your plants. This can cause damage along the drip line. Please ask other companies if they utilize a two-man team and if they rinse the roof before leaving. Using two men and rinsing costs us more money and time, but it produces a far better and safer job.
